Ferrets & stoatsStoats & Ferrets

The stoat , along with weasels and ferrets were introduced to New Zealand in the 1880s to control rabbits and hares. Stoats are now considered "public enemy number one" for New Zealand birds.

The main prey of stoats are rodents, birds, rabbits, hares, possums and insects (particularly weta). Lizards, freshwater crayfish, carrion, birds, eggs, hedgehogs and fish are also taken.

How to get rid of stoats & ferrets in your home

The only sure way to deal with these is by trapping either live or with snap traps.
